Does 3D Printing require software?: The 3D software can be very different, but they all share the same basic elements and use a single file format. From a 3D model to a 3D-printed part, there are four steps:

The slicer divides a part into “layers” parallel to the user-provided reference plane. It then generates toolpaths that are followed by the printhead on each layer when extruding materials.

When setting up a print job, the orientation of the part within a printer is the most important factor to consider.

SketchUp is not for you if you are looking for an interior design program that allows you to add and customize a variety of items, such as ready-made walls, doors, and windows.

5. ZBrush

ZBrush is the newest version of this CG sculpting software that has dominated game development and film VFX for nearly 25 years.

Redshift integration allows for high-quality rendering to be done within ZBrush without the need to export the project to a third-party renderer.

6. FreeCAD

My grandpa would take me and my sisters to a park in the Chicago Park District every Sunday after church to perform a special ritual. We didn’t play on the slides or throw a football for a dog.

Instead, we filled up glass jugs at a well using a hand pump. Clack-clack, clack-clack, gusssh. Grandpa believed in the benefits of drinking fresh water pumped out of a well.

After forty years, I purchased a rural property that had its well. Of course, I wanted a hand pump installed on the well.

I purchased the hand pump but ran into issues with the installation. Hand pumps are not designed to share space in the casing of the well with a household electric pump.

When you use standard mounting components, both pumps will expect to be in the middle. It is necessary to find a way of separating each pump assembly.

I was able to move the electric pump using a pitless Adapter. However, I couldn’t find a commercially available solution to offset the hand pump.

FreeCAD, a free, open-source software program from Freecadweb.org /…, was used to design the custom mounting platform for the hand pump.
