Since the 1980s, the world of George Lucas has been teeming with video game adaptations. It’s not easy to sort through all of this selection, but we’ve taken this Star Wars Day to pick three of the best.
From their dazzling pixelated debut in 1982 to visual artistry at a high level of our time, games Star Wars they have long served as a call to adventure for enthusiasts of this universe. Whether it’s arcade games, FPS or role playing games, they seemed to be united by a key word: imagination. 3 Star Wars: Galactic Battlefields
Over the course of nearly 40 years, the space saga has ventured into countless genres, some of which have already been mentioned. And if the strategic game was often relegated to the background, it was not left out. Many players remember it with nostalgiaAn empire at warbut we wanted to focus on another success of the genre, unfortunately unknown.
First Galactic battlefields was released in 2001, and the least we can say is that Lucasarts spared no expense. In fact, the studio based its game on Genie technology, designed by Ensemble Studios for the essential series Age of Empires. It is the same engine that this opus is made of Star Wars, and if it’s graphically a bit outdated, modders are here to fix it well. Please note that the extension that was located at the time Attack of the clones it was published the following year.
2 Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy
It’s hard to sort through the different parts of the iconic series Eat knight. A choice between several types of lightsabers and fighting stances (20 years ago Eat: Survivors again in a game set in the universe of George Lucas) offered a unique immersive experience. Like its predecessors, this latest installment of the franchise Eat knight it also shined with its particularly enjoyable multiplayer mode.
1 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
An unsurprising choice for anyone used to video games set in a galaxy far, far away. Long before the release of MMORPGs Old RepublicFor the first time, Bioware has offered to reveal the saga’s ancestral past Star Wars. A story of great depth, a particularly rich universe, decisions with sometimes disastrous consequences… These were the various ingredients that made up this pillar of the expanded universe. Good news for those eagerly awaiting its remake: contrary to rumors, the developers at Saber Interactive are still actively working on it.
